Accessibility statement

Last updated: 2026-04-22

Our commitment

We believe cultural stewardship starts with who can reach the material. This site is built to target WCAG 2.2 Level AA (the current W3C Recommendation). We are working toward a published conformance report (ACR) and treat 2.2 AA as the bar across our delivered work as well.

What we do

  • Semantic HTML, landmark regions, and accurate heading order on every page.
  • Visible focus indicators and keyboard navigation throughout.
  • Skip-to-content links on every page.
  • Buttons and primary controls sized for comfortable tapping (at least 44×44px); inline text links follow the WCAG 2.2 AA target-size minimum (SC 2.5.8).
  • Respect for prefers-reduced-motion; no scroll-triggered motion.
  • Alt text on all informative images; decorative images are marked as such.
  • Color contrast is checked against WCAG 2.2 AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Forms with explicit labels, clear error messaging, and focus management on submit.
  • Automated accessibility checks with axe-core, and a manual keyboard and screen-reader review before we ship a page.

Known issues

We maintain a public list of accessibility issues we're aware of. Current known items: AAA-level text contrast is not met for some muted and accent text; inline and footer link tap-targets are below 44×44px; a full manual screen-reader (NVDA/VoiceOver) pass and a published conformance report (ACR) are still in progress. If you encounter an issue, please let us know.

Report an issue

If any part of this site is inaccessible to you — keyboard traps, missing labels, low contrast, unclear errors — please email hello@cohesionlab.com with the page URL and a description. We aim to respond within three business days.

Our services

Accessibility isn't only a property of this website. It's part of every Cohesion Lab engagement. When we build catalogs, visualizations, or curricula for your collection, we build to the same WCAG 2.2 AA standard and run the same review process — automated checks plus a manual keyboard and screen-reader pass — and we deliver a per-project conformance report (ACR).
